Honey Yolk Facial Mask <3

Good evening my lovely Bon-Bons!

It’s been awhile since I did a post, I was in Las Vegas! It was my first time in Las Vegas Nevada and wow! I can’t even begin to explain how incredibly amazed I was! There were giant buildings with lights everywhere! There were clowns, show girls, show boys *wink wink* and the biggest Sephora I have ever seen in my life. There could be bigger Sephoras but I still need to find those.

Ok enough rambling, the day I went back home, I woke up with a sore throat and body pains. Two things I hate the most. It stinks but right now the cold is knocking everyone on their feet so I know I’m not the only one. So what can you do while your stuck in bed and your body hurts too much to do anything? Give yourself a small spa treatment that’s what. It only takes a few minutes I promise, and you’ll be left with tighter, lighter, and smoother skin. There are waiting periods, but you can just sit back and watch TV while your snuggled under a blanket while you wait. Alright so here it is!

This is my take on the Egg Mask. It’s a very easy and common facial that only uses one egg. First, you separate the egg white and yolk on separate plates. Then you beat the egg whites until it turns a little frothy. Then apply it on your face is a gentle massaging motion. Avoid your eye area if you can. Once your done, you let the egg completely dry. Your skin will feel tight and you might find it hard to move. It’s okay, the egg is actually lightening your skin and making it tighter. While you’re waiting for the egg to dry, you can make the second part of the mask.

Now I always read posts about ladies using honey masks, or rose water masks, or oatmeal masks, and extra virgin olive oil masks, but they are always separated. I wanted to try something new so I mixed a bunch of hydrating ingredients together and got this slimy gooey goodness. Here’s what you’ll need. (If you are lacking any of the ingredients, it’s completely fine just to use the egg yolk. It’s like a homemade conditioner for your skin.)

~The egg yolk

~2 Tbs of Organic Honey

~3 Tbs of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

~ A pinch of cinnamon

Mix all of these ingredients together until you get a gooey like substance. You want to make sure the honey is evenly mixed in. You can microwave the honey before adding in the mixture to make it easier. Once all nice and mixed in, you can go wash off the egg white mask with warm water.

Once it’s all rinsed off, apply your layer of the honey yolk mask. Make sure it’s even. The cinnamon made it smell a little yummy too. Now is the time to sit back and watch your TV. You want to wait about 15 minutes so the honey can be absorbed into the skin and dry on the outside. Try the smile test, if you can’t, it’s time to wash off the mask. Use a warmer water to help melt off the mask. Once done, give your face a small massage with your hands, doing so with gently rub off any dry skin you have on your face. Then do one final rinse. Pat dry and add your favorite moisturizer to your skin. Your skin should feel tighter and smoother.

There you go! A home remedy you can make in minutes if your having a bad day or just want to give yourself a little spa treatment! I recommend only doing this once a week if you have dry skin and twice a week if you have extremely oily skin. I have oily skin so I’ll probably be doing this in about 3 days again.

Hope this helps you guys out in anyway possible. Until next time!

If anything I’ll do a January Favorites post sometime this week.

Face Off Season 4 Episode 2

Good evening my lovely Bon-Bons!

Here is the second post on my favorite show ever, Face Off!

Alright instead of wasting your time, I’m just going to get right into it.

So this weeks challenge was to create an original DC Comics super hero. The winner of this challenge, would get their creation featured in a new up coming 52 series. I’m guessing The Green Lantern Comics, because the concept designers for the comic, were helping the competitors figure out an idea and helped them sketch it out. Really cool challenge and prize if you ask me but unfortunately I think a majority of people missed the mark with this challenge.

Here’s all the contestants with their make up this week. I’ll put the name of their super heroes next to them.

Alam: Dark Shard

Now Alam’s original design was to have a super hero made out of shards of glass. He would have giant glass shards protruding out of his back and elbows and his face prosthetic was very straight and chiseled, very reminiscent of Batman: The Animated Series. Her color scheme was to have different shades of sky blue to create the mirror illusion of glass. Well not everything came out as planned. Having used  plexi-glass( I think) as the giant shards for the back, the piece was very flimsy and heavy so after applying it, it simply tore apart under it’s own weight. During Last Looks, Alam was forced to paint over the back piece. However when being judged, Glenn asked if the model could turn around and the judges saw that his back was poorly painted on, with actual skin spots showing. Not a very good week for her…

Alexandra: H2O Girl (I actually did not catch her name so if I’m wrong please comment the correct name!)

Alex’s idea was very familiar to a Star Wars Twi’ lek. You know the girls with two giant tentacle hair things that umm… well they just danced alot but yeah anyway, Alex’s idea looked very similar. Now her super hero was a female aquatic super hero with gills around her neck and two large tentacles that replaced her hair. Yes the design was similar, but the actual make-up that was done was impressive. The tentacles weren’t static and they moved freely, and the color scheme was blues, whites, light pinks, and greens. She should have spent more time making a chest piece or some other piece that would have distracted from the giant tentacles on the back of her head.

Wayne: SolarMan

Ok well what can I say about this make-up besides I think he just missed the pitch with this one. I have to say that his original concept was to create a cyborg super hero that seemed almost like a Titan with a giant physique with robotic details added into the prosthetic , but what he ended up with was very different. Now I think where he messed up was the color scheme he chose. He chose a very pale color and made it flat all around. There should have at least have been different metallic coloring to create dimension and having this super hero not ending up looking like if he was just a bulky blob. YOU NEED MORE DETAILS IN COLORING WAYNE!

Meagan: Freedom Fighter

Quite a patriotic pieces with this one. Meagan’s design was creating a robot suit in the theme of the Twin Towers in New York City(More like  a War Machine knock-off). The suit was to be made from the Ground Zero metal. Nice idea she just couldn’t get what she had on paper into the clay. Her face piece was a bad mixture of curves and straight chiseled lines.  A safe artist would have chosen to stick with one or the other she mixed the two and created a very uneven, over-sized mask. She had also created two arm pieces that were shaped like the twin towers, however like Ve said, they ended up looking like two giant remotes on the sides of his arms.  Looks like she can’t rely on Anthony anymore.

House: Robot Girl

Now I actually thought that this one was far too much for this challenge but the end was result was pretty bad ass. House’s design was that the super hero was a robot japanese punk girl that fought crime in a tiny plaid skirt. His approach was on the Sci-Fy genre of comics but he did make it work. Her make-up was alot of wires and machinery running up from her back onto her skull. Lot’s of fake blood was added, however it wasn’t as gory due to the fact that instead of just leaving the blood like that, he mixed metallic colors in the blood and on the skin, giving the super hero a more robot sexy feel, than just gore.

Michael: Elijah: Bringer of Plagues

Unlike last week’s idea, Michael had a pretty cool design for this week’s challenge. He took inspiration from one of the oldest designs of the Grim Reaper, and made a super hero out of it. It actually looked more like a super villain, but hey! Who cares right? He spent most of his time creating a mask for the hero instead of working on anything else. Once done, the mask looked like the upper half of a bird’s beak made out of weak material. The coloring didn’t really add much to it. He could have even added jewel detailing to the mask to add something but he chose not to. On the stage, his hero did look cool with the complete costume. He did look like a bringer of plagues, however like Glenn stated, he could have done so much more than focusing on a crummy mask.

Jenna: SilverSight

This week Jenna made a character that was half WonderWoman and half Hawkwoman. Being that it was so obvious that it wasn’t really an original idea, I figured she would at least add something that would make it truly hers, but she really didn’t. The make-up was Hawkwoman while the armor was all Wonderwoman. Fine I guess, but all in all it was pretty boring. It was something we’ve all seen already.

Eric Z.: Contagion

So at the beginning when everyone was sketching out their designs, I had very high hopes for this guy. His design was a chemist version of Dr. Freeze, created in the honor of his father. The design was really cool with a giant glass helmet with tubes trailing down his neck, onto his shoulders, and then down his back. His color scheme was of course neon greens and yellows, with rusty browns and blacks to add definition and ruin to his costume. The idea was so good I could only watch in horror as he changed it all around. Instead of the giant glass helmet, he made a very uneven welding mask. Two tubes came out of it and went down his back. The colors looked muddy and overall he ruined a great idea.

Anthony: The Infernal Core

Woot go Anthony! Sorry ladies but he’s my favorite for a good reason. His design was more on the elemental  side of super heroes. He created a molten lava guy who fought against people who harmed the Earth. Now originally he had created a very large back piece and a chest piece that would mimic the look of rocks and he would color like the molten plates beneath us. However he did not use his timing wisely and on Application Day, he had to abandon his two main pieces because they would not come out of the mold, plus he would have still have had to clean them, trim then and then color them. On to Plan B then! Anthony created a costume with large shoulders and a fairly small waistline which in my opinion was genius! It made his shoulders look bigger without being too bulky. His make-up was great. Ve said he hit the mark with the lava coloring which most contestants can’t usually do.

AutumnMercury Ray

All of all of the contestants, Autumn was the only one whose model actually looked like a super hero. The underwear over the tights, the cape, and the crazy colors were all checked out. Her concept was a phoenix super hero who i believe controlled fire. Now although it was the most super hero one, I think she went over board with the coloring. For the phoenix design she chose red, orange, and yellows. However that’s it! The colors were very flat with not a lot of dimension with anything. It looked like one red hot mess. Too bright for the eyes.

Kris: Orion X

I am going to be completely serious and honest right now. I cannot say much about this guy. To me, his super hero looked like a blue bloated SuperMan. That’s it. He’s doesn’t have a lot of screen time so I don’t know what else to say. Hey! SyFy! Add more screen time for him! It’s kinda sad how you don’t…

Katie: Re-Volt

Alright!! One of those people who really missed the mark with the design. Now I’e learned not to be too judgmental because I know everyone has not had the same childhood. Growing up in a male dominant household, comics, cartoons, sci-fi, and horror was all around the house. So I’ve picked up a few things growing up,  but I have learned that some people my age don’t even know who Wonderwoman is. So sometimes, it’s hard for them to create an image because  of that. Katie’s look was very out of the place. I believe she tried taking inspiration from House, due to the fact they both had punk details added to their design. Her idea was to make an inventor who had created his own weapons harboring electricity and becoming a vigilante. Nah. Her mask looked like a styrofoam kiki mask. No joke. She had wires coming out of everywhere and had her model’s hair pointing straight up like he had been shocked. Not one of the best looks…

Eric F.: Dick Gritty

Last but not least! Eric F. Last week he was paired with Jenna and together they created an awesome make-up and he did just as good working alone. I’ve taken into account that he specializes in horror and gore and the way he added it to his make-up was very impressive. Taking a more Noire approach, he created a masked cowboy hero who had been attacked and left for dead. He overcame his injuries and created a way to contain all his guts and brains inside his body. That’s not even the cool part! When the model would breath, the prosthetic lungs would actually move under an acrylic plate, giving off an awesome illusion that you could actually see his lungs. Impressive to say at the very least!

Now I looked over my last Face Off post and I noticed I didn’t really say who won the challenge and I am sorry for that.  So I’e created a small section where you can get the info! Here goes!

(P.S. Anthony won the challenge last week. yay!)

Bottom 3 Looks

Top 3 Looks

Eric F.

This week’s winner is….

Even after going through a huge drawback in his original design, with some quick thinking, he managed to make the costume give him the shape he was looking for and with an awesome make-up application, he went home today a winner.

Who Left?

Sadly the person who was sent home was Michael. I agree with Glenn when he said he had no idea where he used up all his time. He could have done so much more instead of just a plain mask. I do hope he continues to practice hard and eventually make his way up. The guy has awesome designs, he just needs to put them in the actual make-up.

Well that’s the end of this week’s post. It took me a lot longer than expected but that’s ok. I’m sorry if I missed a couple of things. It’s 11 pm and I am tired. But you guys come first so I wanted to finish the post up by tonight.

January Ipsy Glam Bag

Hello my lovely Bon-Bons!

This morning when I woke up, I was greeted with a pretty pink package outside my door. YES!

Now I have been suscribed to Ipsy for almost a year. I did miss the August and September because I ran out of money, but thankfully I have a friend who loves me very much and she helped me pay for the bags after. For those of you who do not know what Ipsy is, Ipsy was a monthly bag subscription(like birch box) created by a team of beauty gurus on Youtube. The team is made up of Michelle Phan(my IDOL!), MacBarbie07 or Bethany, Promise Phan, Jessica Harlow, and AndreasChoice. However starting this year, we have even more beauty gurus in on it! I am so happy to see that Charismastar or Charis, Kandee Johnson, and  Thatsheart. I don’t think there is any more and if there are, I’m sorry! Anyway back to the bag. Each month you get a small adorable make-up bag full of 4-5 samples to full size products. This could be from new Indie brands that are starting out, to brands you already love. I personally love it so much because I tend not to wear a lot of make-up, so even though they are samples, I have them for a very long time. I still have the Buxom Lip Gloss from the April bag I think. I definitely recommend this bag subscription. I know some people have Birchbox, but instead of getting lotions and perfume samples, Ipsy gives you make-up and skin care products.  But if you like Birchbox, then you stick to it and let nobody tell you any different!

Ok so now to the actual January bag.

These are the products in this month’s glam bag. Now if you can’t see very have well, have no fear!!! I shall describe them. So in this bag I got the Pacifica: Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter (props to the really cool sounding name.), a SOHO eye liner brush, a bottle of Nailtini nail polish, a small vial of JOSIE MARANArgan Oil, and a sample can of the BIGSEXYHAIR hairspray. Plus you get the cute navy blue bag all the products came in.

I’m going to show them from least excited to most excited about. Which is really hard to do because I actually needed products like all of these so… Aww screw it, I’ll start with the nail polish.

Here is my Nailtini polish in a wonderful milky nude color they called Frappe. I would have just called it Milk or something. I love this color! After seeing some reviews from other ladies, I thought I was getting a gorgeous red color, but I am super happy with Frappe. I think this is a color I can wear for anything! A party, a wedding, a job interview, or on an every day basis. It’s just a pretty nude color that also lengthens your fingers because at a quick glance, the nail and the finger look like the same color, creating a illusion of a longer nail. I am wearing the color in the photo and I feel as if I don’t really need to add a top coat because once it dries, it still had a glossy finish. Not to mention it dries in less than 5 minutes.

Next up is the BIGSEXYHAIR Volumizing  Hairspray. I actually should have posted on this first. I actually already have extremely wavy and thick hair, so if I were to add more volume, I’d end up with a lion mane as my hair. I do think it’s a great product to give out to all the ladies with pencil thin hair. Since I can’t really try it out on my own hair, I’ll just give it to one of my girlfriends who has thin hair. Sorry i can’t give you anymore info! It smells like any other typical hairspray if that’s a question you would ask.

This is actually one product I was dying to to get. This is the SOHO straight edge liner brush. Great from lining your eyes and giving the wing a nice faded out effect. However, one of the best things about make-up brushes, you never have to use it for what it is originally intended for. I plan on using this to help me apply shadows to my lower lash line, filling in my brows, helping to define a clean cut crease, maybe even thinly contouring my nose bridge. So I am extremely excited with this product. Remember you can do so many things with make-up brushes. You just need to try them out.

Now everyone might have their own favorite lotion with a scent, but let me tell you, you are about to trade up. This is the Pacifica: Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter. You know the rule, if it’s a mouthful it’s bound to work. Anyway this lotion smells amazing!! Even right now I just hold the bottle up to my nose and take an 8 second inhale. It smells amazing! It’s also very moisturizing. I had washed the dishes and when I dried my hands, they were all dry and nasty. No Gusta. I put a small pea sized on my hands and rubbed it in. I don’t think you need to use alot! To me, the small amount was fine for both my hands and my wrist area. I am going to try to stretch this product for as long as I can, until I can afford the full size product at least.

Onto the last product. Now this will be the holy grail of this bag. This is the JOSIE MARAN: Argan Oil. This oil is extremely hydrating for all of your skin and hair. If you have dry skin, apply a few drops on your palm and rub onto to your entire face, even the lips. Got dry cuticles? After applying the oil to your face, you can rub your nails on your opposite hand’s palm and use any oil that got saturated right there. Dry hair? Give it some love by applying some to the roots, then working it down the hair shaft. I have extremely dry skin during the winter so I think giving my face some rehab after all that suffering will definitely help.

This is just a quick look inside the bag. I love the little stars.

All in all, I am extremely happy with this months bag. Other than the hairspray, I can see myself using these products daily. If anything, I’ll do before and after shots for that Argan Oil. I am currently flaking around the eyebrows and on my jaw line. I hope it works fast. If you’d like me to post pics, just leave a comment. I’m kind of nervous about posting face pics on the internet because then ANYONE could just copy them and do stuff with them…. Well if it’s for my Bon-Bons, I shall prevail! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you follow my blog!

The Magic of Make-Up

Hello my Bon-Bons! Today I am making a very quick post on how much you can really do with make-up. When most people(mainly guys) think of make-up, they think of girls who have caked on make-up with tacky drawn on eye brows and ugly hoochie red lips and nasty spider legs eye lashes! Excuse my while I shiver. Ugh.

Anyway so most people think of that. Only the bad stuff. But today I showed my girlfriends the simple changes you can do with make-up that look natural yet enhanced. I will use my friend, Dino as an example. (Names have been changed to protect the identity of this individual) So Dino has a a huge issue with acne. She hates it when she is breaking out and to make matter worse, she likes to pick at her pimples causing the skin to tear and leaving her acne scars. Another bad thing she does is pack on globs of make-up just to hide her acne, only causing her to break out even more. So as her friend, today i spent hours showing her right from wrong.

First thing I had her do, completely wash her face. That’s the secret to wonderful skin. Wash. Next I told her how applying too much make-up with out a primer can really damage the skin. So I applied a nice layer of primer, and then proceeded to apply her foundation. I used a small amount of foundation, dotting it around her face and then using a cosmetic sponge to blend everything out. I wish I could show you guys before and after pictures but not yet. Anyway, because I didn’t slather on the foundation, she had a nice even layer of full coverage foundation which helped to even out her skin tone and hide most of her blemishes. Because it wasn’t all cakey, her pimples didn’t stand out as much. Next I buffed in a small amount of mineral powder for extra coverage. She never really wore eye shadows, so defined her brows a bit, did a nice wing liner, added a soft berry color to her cheeks and finished off with a deep red lip.

Once she saw the finished products in the mirror, she was shocked at how natural she looked while still hiding all her acne. I guess what I’m trying to say is, make-up is a powerful thing. With only a little bit, you can completely change your image. If I wanted to go even further I would have contoured her nose and cheekbones and added highlight for an even more all around radiance.  But she was happy the way it was so if she is happy, I am happy.

Say it with me ladies, NO MORE SPIDER LEGS!

Face Off Season 4 Episode 1

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!! My favorite series is back and WOW! These people are freaking amazing!! During the reveal stage, I was squealing like a little girl because of how amazing all the sculpts were.
Ok so here is a quick run down of the episode. SPOILER ALERT!!!!
There are 14 new contestants, well… 13 now. There is Eric F. House, Katie, Troy, Wayne, Anthony, Kris, Alam, Alexandra, Autumn, Eric Z, Jenna, Meagan, and Michael. That was a mouthful.
Ok now for the main challenge, the goal was to pick a geographical theme and incorporate it into a Goblin King’s mak-up. The themes were; desert, arctic, jungle, volcano, swamp, forest, and mountains. All the artists were amazing! Each sculpt was so unique and well thought out. However… not every fairy tale is perfect so he goes the critiquing.  They were each paired off with another artist which I shall tell you.
Katie & House: Arctic

Ok this one I feel was some what unoriginal.Their Goblin King was an ice blue color, with a long bented nose and a super sharp chin. He had long white hair going down his body. They gave him icicle shoulders and detailing on the hands and dressed him in pale blue robes. To me, it literally looked like a realistic form of the Ice King from Adventure Time.  I am not kidding! The only thing he was missing was the pointy golden crown. So… yeah. We shall see how they grow in the competition.

Eric F. & Jenna: Desert

Wow. Just WOW! This team was amazing. Definitely an odd pair themselves, Eric and Jenna really took this challenge by storm. Both have a very dark, gothic, unique, horror feel to them and their sculpt was a beautiful work of art. The face was an bull skull with gold accents and black shading. The skin was colored perfectly to match the different hues you would find in a desert wasteland (Courtesy of Jenna). I can’t put as much as I want to, but their sculpt was awesome and I can see them going far in this competition.

Eric Z. & Autumn: Jungle

Ok now this team was fairly one sided. Autumn was the one who had the general idea and gave the  orders, while Eric followed them and at the same time, sculpted some of the most genius pieces that I have ever seen. It was anything new, it was that he was able to sculpt bark to match the muscle anatomy of an entire arm. Pretty freaking impressive for being the youngest. Represent!

Michael & Troy: Volcano

Alright now these two disappointed me. At the beginning, they had an awesome simple idea that I think could have taken them pretty far. I guess part of being an artist is not knowing when to stop. Michael wanted to add armor and such and that basically covered up most of their chest sculpt. Not to mention they added a ridiculous hat that looked like a party hat on fire. That decision led them to be on the worst list.

Alam & Kris: Forest

Not much to mention on these two. They played it fairly safe by using simplicity as their friend. I actually think they had one of the best ones because elements of nature were added in really nicely, and realistically which is what you don’t see very often. Can’t wait until I see them use their full potential on a make-up.

Wayne & Alexandra: Swamp

Now to be honest, this wasn’t so much as a team effort. Alexandra did almost nothing, leaving Wayne to sculpt the mask, the back, the cowl and even do the coloring. It was a free ride for her because the sculpt itself was really good. They got the aspects of a crocodile down, but unfortunately, the coloring didn’t quite add up since they one had 45 minutes to apply make-up. So kudos to Wayne. I can see him going very far.

Meagan & Anthony: Mountain

I have saved the best for last!!! Alright now! It is extremely difficult to sculpt rocks. It is! You have to match the geometry, the texture, and the coloring. Anthony did it. He is the guy I am rooting for this competition. He has amazing skills as a painter and amazing skills as a sculptor. I don’t really have anything to say about Meagan. She just helped with the coloring and the costume. I don’t even know how to describe it! Just go watch the episode!

Who left?

Sadly, the one who was sent home tonight was Troy. Which made me super sad because his first idea was really good! I would have liked to see him learn more and grow but I guess those judges didn’t agree. 😡 Glen is such a meanie.

Now we shall see how next week turns out! I can’t wait!
